I went to LA on saturday to visit my grandma. Working in the hospital and constantly being around sick and injured people kind of desensitizes you (is that a word?) from all the emotion. But when it comes to family members and loved ones the emotions are definitely still there. It was heartbreaking seeing my grandma in that setting. She was intubated so she wasn't able to talk and I know it's frustrating for her. She was also really tired when we got there so we just let her sleep. ::sigh:: The elderly most definitely have a special spot in my heart, especially after working with so many of them at Hoag. I've found that if you just talk to them, they all have remarkable stories of interesting and adventurous lives, all of which you can learn from. I'm sad that I'm not THAT close to my grandma. I should be. Probably one of my regrets in life. That should be a lesson to all of you. Anywayz, please pray for my grandma for her recovery and if it's not God's will them may be free from pain and may she be at peace.
