I'm back!

I can't believe I was in the PI for 2 1/2 weeks. It went by fast, but I feel like I did a lot during the short time that I was gone. I've found that it is difficult to uncover all that was (and still can be) learned from each experience. Every time that I reflect upon a particular event, I'm able to discover something else beautiful about it. My expectations were not met; they were exceeded but in a different way. Without a doubt, it was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions, but through it all I was pleasantly surprised about how much of a spiritual retreat it actually was for me above all else. Experiencing God in the unexpected is always enlightening. To learn about who you are, the good and the bad, is to learn who God is. To learn about your own faults is to learn about God's mercy and acceptance. To learn about one corrupt person of the Philippines is to learn about the countless amounts of genuinely compassionate people there. Although the state of the Philippines is disheartening, I found so much of God's presence there that the doubt has turned into hope. For lack of time, I'll just end with, overall, it was an awesome experience... thank you for your prayers!

I'll blog more later and post pictures too!
