The beginning

Perhaps one reason why I don't blog all that often is because I simply don't have the time to transcribe my thoughts into sensible words and ideas. But I figure that some writing (any writing) might do me some good. So here goes...

It's Lent...and I'm excited. I over heard a conversation by one of my "Catholic" co-workers when he said, "I'm going to eat A LOT of meat on Fridays just to spite everyone. This abstinence stuff isn't in the Bible. It doesn't make sense." My first reaction was, "Wow...he doesn't get it." I wish I said something, but fear of being taboo and causing tension in the work place overcame me. I don't think I knew quite what to say at that moment also. In any case, I'm thankful that I understand the purpose and grace behind Lent, and I hope that I don't waste it this year. I know I've fallen rather far these past few years. Here's my attempt to get back up...
