I Will Hold You

When you have been hurt and I see you crying,
The sadness in your eyes, the tremble of your lips,
I will hold you
Till your tears transfer onto my face
And I can taste the saltiness on my lips.
I will take your pain.

When you are weary and can no longer see the road before you
I will hold you by your hand
And be your guide till the fog clears up
And the sun shines brightly on your face.

When you are lonely and without a friend,
I will be the one to hold you, embrace you.
I will be your shadow so that every time you turn around I will be there.

When you are scared of the unknown,
I will hold you,
Protect you from any danger.
I will be your shield against any harm, your sword against any enemy.

When you are tired from your journey,
I will hold you,
Carry you if I have to.
I will be your support
Until you are strong enough to walk on your own.

And when the time comes when you no longer need me,
I will hold you one last time
and whisper into your ear,
“I will always be here, my arms outstretched,
Waiting for when you will call on me again.
But until that day
I ask you to hold ME and NEVER let go
Because I will ALWAYS need you in my life.
